In 1991, Davis-Standard acquired the Sterling brand and continued producing Sterling-branded blow molding and extrusion machines at its Edison, New Jersey facility, keeping the name alive through the late 1990s and into the early 2000s.

Sterling's flagship product line was its accumulator head extrusion blow molding machines, offered in a range of shot weights from roughly 3 lb to 50 lb and beyond, in both single-head and dual-head configurations. Well-known model series include the SE20, SE303D, and SE350D accumulator head blow molders, as well as the SS-40 series for larger-shot applications. These machines featured hydraulic clamping systems, parison programming controllers such as the Maco 6500 and Maco 8000, and robust extruder drives sized to match the demands of high-output HDPE processing.

Sterling accumulator head blow molders were engineered primarily for industrial and consumer applications requiring large hollow parts. Core end markets included automotive components such as panels and ducts, industrial containers and drums, large housewares, outdoor furniture, and agricultural tanks. The machines process polyolefins — particularly HDPE — and were a standard choice for processors supplying the packaging, automotive, and industrial goods sectors across North America.
