Looking to Sell Your Plasma Cutters?
Meadoworks is an active cash buyer of used industrial equipment. Get a free valuation from our AMEA-certified appraisers.
About Used Plasma Cutters
CNC plasma cutting machines use a high-temperature ionized gas jet to cut electrically conductive metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Modern high-definition plasma systems produce cut quality approaching laser on materials up to 2 inches thick, at significantly lower cost per foot of cut. Plasma cutting tables range from 4Γ4 feet for small shops to 40+ feet for structural steel fabrication.
Key specifications include cutting capacity (maximum thickness by material), table size, plasma power source amperage, and CNC control system. High-definition (HD) plasma systems from Hypertherm (XPR, HPR) and Lincoln (Spirit) deliver superior cut quality with narrower kerf and less dross.
Meadoworks stocks used plasma cutting tables and systems from Hypertherm, Lincoln, ESAB, Koike, Messer, and Thermal Dynamics. Contact us at 800-323-0307.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between plasma and laser cutting?
Plasma cutting uses an ionized gas jet and works best on thick conductive metals (over 3/8 inch), offering lower equipment and operating costs. Laser cutting uses a focused light beam for thinner materials with tighter tolerances and finer detail. Plasma is more economical for thick plate, while laser excels at precision thin-gauge work.
