About Siocast
Siocast was established in 2017 as a spin-off of the Spanish industrial group Coniex, which had spent more than 35 years supplying silicone rubber compounds and casting equipment to the spin casting and foundry industries. The founding team channeled roughly eight years of internal R&D — at times representing up to 17 percent of Coniex's annual turnover — into developing and patenting a new process for injecting thermoplastic resin into high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber molds. Headquartered at the DFactory Barcelona Industry 4.0 hub, Siocast operates its own R&D labs, silicone manufacturing plant, and finished-goods warehouses from a single Barcelona campus.
The flagship product is the SiOform1, a compact thermoplastic injection molding machine capable of up to 40 injection cycles per hour using silicone rubber molds made from 3D-printed masters. Buyers who need higher throughput pair the SiOform1 with the SiOfuse1 productivity module, which pushes output to 60 cycles per hour while also reducing maintenance demands and increasing recycled-material utilization. Completing the ecosystem is the SiOpress, a hydraulic vulcanizing press with an electro-welded steel frame that cures the silicone rubber molds before they enter production. Together these three machines form a self-contained, in-house manufacturing cell capable of producing from a few dozen to several hundred thousand small thermoplastic parts.
Siocast machines serve a wide range of end markets. The miniatures and tabletop gaming industry — including manufacturers of hobby figures, wargaming models, and collectibles — represents the largest and most established customer base, with well-known studios adopting the system for on-demand and short-run production. Jewelry makers and investment casters use the SiOform1 alongside the company's SiOres D56 CAST burnout resin to produce highly detailed wax-replacement patterns. Additional applications span toy and action-figure manufacturing, fashion accessories, engineering prototyping, and decorative component production across Europe, North America, and beyond.
Buyers seeking used Siocast equipment on the secondary market are typically drawn to the low total cost of ownership relative to conventional steel-tooling injection presses, the compact footprint that suits small-batch in-house production, and the availability of proprietary spare parts and consumables directly from the manufacturer. The patented process and purpose-built machine design mean that a used SiOform1 retains strong utility value — the silicone mold system is inexpensive to retool, so operators can redirect a pre-owned machine to entirely new product lines with minimal capital outlay.
