About Ferry Industries

USAEst. 1927

Ferry Machine Co. was founded by Ernest Ferry in 1927 in Kent, Ohio, as a small machine shop producing specialty engineered parts for rubber, aircraft, and bearing industries. A group of investors led by Harry Covington acquired the company in 1982 and rolled out its first rotational molding machine the following year, setting the company on a new course. Ferry Industries has since grown into a globally recognized manufacturer headquartered in Stow, Ohio, with its machines operating in more than 60 countries across six continents.

The flagship RotoSpeed line of rotational molding machines is the core of Ferry Industries' business and spans more than 40 standard models. Machine configurations include independent-arm carousel machines, fixed-arm turret carousel machines, in-line shuttle machines, rocking-oven machines for tall tanks and elongated parts, and compact laboratory machines for process development. Swing capacities range from 55 inches up to 239 inches, with mold weight capacities reaching 12,000 pounds per arm. All RotoSpeed machines are managed by the RotoCure process control system, and Ferry's InfraRed Thermometry and RotoLog diagnostics suite give operators real-time cycle data and automated oven adjustments. The Nexus series, introduced in 2021, added touchscreen controls, enhanced automation, and energy-efficient technology to the lineup.

Ferry Industries serves a wide range of end markets that depend on large, seamless hollow plastic parts. Key industries include agriculture and liquid storage tanks, aerospace, automotive, marine, playground and recreational equipment, toys, and medical device applications. The rotational molding process is particularly valued in these sectors for its ability to produce complex, stress-free parts at low tooling cost, from small components to agricultural reservoirs holding thousands of gallons.

Buyers seeking used Ferry rotational molding machines are drawn first to the brand's reputation for heavy-duty construction and long service life — RotoSpeed machines are routinely found still in production after two or more decades. The modular independent-arm design means arms and carts can be added without mechanical modification to the base machine, preserving upgrade value. A well-established North American parts and service network, combined with Ferry's continued production of the same platform, makes sourcing spare parts straightforward. These factors combine to give used Ferry rotomolders strong resale value and low total cost of ownership relative to comparable equipment.
