About Mag-Torch
Mag-Torch traces its roots to Magna International Corporation, a maker of propane-powered infrared heating systems. Larry Whited and David Davidson bought the company in 1979 and renamed it Magna Industries, Inc.; in 1982 the company released its first propane torch to the retail market, and the MagTorch division brand name followed in 1999. The company was acquired by Worthington Enterprises in 2019.
The flagship line is the hand torch family, including the MT545 MagCommander, MT575 DuraCast 575, MT200 Classic Brass, MT245 Wide Flame Brass, MT301 Self-Lighting, MT531 All-Purpose, MT535 Utility, MT560 Agility, MT565 MagFlame 360 and MT579 MagFlame 360 Ultra. Smaller MT780 Detail, MT790 Detail Pen and MT747 Micro Torch models cover precision work, while the MT585OX Brazing Torch Kit combines MAP-Pro and oxygen for brazing, light welding and metal cutting. Torches are offered as bare tools and as kits with fuel, stands, rods and spark lighters.
