Battenfeld was founded in 1947 in Meinerzhagen, Germany and became one of Europe''s most important injection molding machine builders. In 2008 the injection molding business was acquired by Austria''s Wittmann Group and reorganized as Wittmann Battenfeld, headquartered in Kottingbrunn, Austria. The combined company offers a complete range of machines: the EcoPower all-electric series for precision and clean-room work, the SmartPower servo-hydraulic toggle line for general-purpose molding, the MacroPower two-platen large-tonnage range (400-2,000+ tons) for automotive and large-part molding, the MicroPower for micro-injection molding, and TM Xpress for high-speed thin-wall packaging. Pre-2008 legacy Battenfeld machines such as the HM, Plus, Unilog B6, BA, TM, and ECONOMY series remain very common on the secondary market and continue to deliver productive service.
