About Milacron
Milacron's corporate heritage stretches back to 1884, when the Cincinnati Screw and Tap Company was incorporated in Cincinnati, Ohio. The business evolved into the Cincinnati Milling Machine Company in 1889 and spent decades as a leading machine tool builder before formally entering the plastics industry in 1968 with its first injection molding machine. The company reincorporated under the Milacron name in 1970, acquired German injection molding specialist Ferromatik in 1993, and was ultimately acquired by Hillenbrand, Inc. in 2019, with Bain Capital taking a majority stake in 2025.
Milacron's injection molding lineup spans a wide tonnage range and multiple drive technologies. The servo-hydraulic Q-Series covers low-to-mid tonnage toggle presses from 55 to 610 tons, while the two-platen M-Series targets mid-to-large tonnage automotive and industrial applications. The C-Series addresses large-tonnage needs with energy-efficient FANUC servo power, and the all-electric eQ-Series delivers cleanroom-ready precision with regenerative servo drives. For structural foam and low-pressure injection molding, the L-Series offers platens up to 110 by 200 inches. Milacron also produces single- and twin-screw extrusion systems, blow molding equipment under the Uniloy brand, and hot runner systems through its Mold-Masters division.
Milacron machines serve a diverse range of end markets. Automotive manufacturers rely on the M-Series and C-Series for large structural and trim components, while medical device producers favor the precision and cleanliness of the all-electric eQ-Series and Roboshot platforms. Packaging converters, consumer goods molders, construction product manufacturers, and electronics assemblers all count on Milacron injection and extrusion equipment for high-volume, repeatable production.
Buyers seeking used Milacron machines benefit from the brand's reputation for rugged, long-service-life construction and a strong North American service network with broad parts availability. The MOSAIC control platform, used across multiple machine generations, is well understood by technicians throughout the industry, reducing retraining costs. Milacron's servo-hydraulic and all-electric configurations deliver meaningful energy savings compared to older conventional hydraulic machines, making used examples attractive for processors looking to lower operating costs without the lead times and capital outlay of new equipment.
