About Strippit
Strippit started in Akron, New York, and became one of the names that defined CNC turret punching. The Fabri-Center line — including the 1000 S and later SXP models — was built for job-shop sheet metal: a thick turret, a moving sheet, and a GE Fanuc or similar control.
LVD later acquired Strippit and continues the punch-press business under the LVD Strippit name, alongside press brakes and lasers. Older Fabri-Center machines still run daily in fabrication plants. Buyers compare them by tonnage, station count, and whether the original tooling travels with the machine.
On a used 1000 S, confirm the turret station count the seller states, the control on the pendant, and that the tooling being offered matches the stations. Service records, when the seller has them, matter more than a cosmetic cleanup. Throat depth and sheet size are often missing from a quick email and should be checked against the nameplate.
