About Pacific
Pacific Press Technologies was founded in 1945 in Oakland, California, at the close of World War II, when two partners developed the world's first practical hydraulic press brake for military applications. The company soon relocated to Mount Carmel, Illinois, to take advantage of a larger facility with high bays and rail access, and it has operated there ever since. Over its eight decades in business, Pacific has installed more than 15,000 machines across North America and was acquired by Right Lane Industries in 2017, which also brought sister brand Multipress under the same roof.
Pacific's hydraulic press lineup is the core of its product portfolio and the equipment most sought on the used market. The company offers 4-Post presses, C-Frame and Gap Frame presses sold under the Pressformer and Pressformer II series names, Straight Side presses, Horizontal presses, and Compression Molding presses, with capacities spanning from 100 tons to 3,500 tons. Press brakes round out the catalog, available in high-tonnage, low-tonnage, and electric configurations. Every machine is engineered and built in the USA at the Mount Carmel facility.
Pacific hydraulic presses serve a broad range of demanding end markets. Automotive suppliers rely on them for forming structural panels, brackets, and assembly components. Aerospace manufacturers use high-tonnage Pacific presses for forged and formed metal parts. Additional industries served include appliance production, agricultural equipment, military manufacturing, medical device fabrication, and general heavy metalworking and metal fabrication shops that require consistent force and repeatable cycles.
Buyers actively seek used Pacific hydraulic presses and 4-Post presses because the machines are renowned for exceptional longevity, with reported service lives exceeding 40 years. Replacement parts remain available directly from the manufacturer, making rebuilds and reconditioning straightforward. The all-American construction, heavy-duty frames, and proven hydraulic systems mean that a well-maintained used Pacific press delivers the same repeatable performance as a new machine, often at a fraction of the cost.
