About AKS
AKS Cutting Systems is a United States builder of CNC plate-cutting machines. The company describes itself as a fourth-generation manufacturer with more than a century of machine building, and the current product site is akscutting.com.
The plasma line is led by the Accu-Kut, a unitized downdraft table offered in multiple sizes, including the 8 by 24 foot cutting area seen on used machines. Tru-Kut and Dura-Kut are the other plasma tables. AKS also builds waterjet cutters. Downdraft tables use multi-zone fume extraction; a dust collector is often a separate unit.
Accu-Kut machines are commonly equipped with Hypertherm XPR or HPR power supplies, an automatic gas console, torch height control, and a touchscreen CNC. Those power supplies and controls are what buyers compare, more than the table frame.
On a used Accu-Kut, confirm the power supply model and whether it conveys, the gas console, the cutting size, and whether the dust collector is included. Table slats, the torch, and the control are wear items. Year is often missing unless a serial plate is photographed.
