About ACD Group
ACD Group traces its roots to 1976, when ACD Elektronik GmbH was founded in Achstetten near Ulm, Germany by Karl-Heinz Andes, Johann Bolkart, and Fritz Guther. The group expanded over the following decades, adding ACD Systemtechnik in 1991 and ACD Antriebstechnik in 1996, then extending internationally with ACD Czech in 2015 and ACD USA in 2016. Today the group operates production sites in Achstetten and Neustadt an der Orla, Germany, plus Kadaň, Czech Republic, and a sales and service location in Wood Dale, Illinois.
The product line most relevant to used equipment buyers is the MAX BE family of mobile powered workstations, including the MAX BE Li-Ion, MAX BE STD, MAX BE BWS-R, MAX BE TK, and MAX BE GO with electric drive, along with the MAX Plus and MAX 100 laptop and barcode scanner carts. These battery-powered carts carry lithium-ion or AGM power supplies such as the PowerBox PB300 BE Li-Ion, and can be configured with laser printers, barcode scanners, and modular accessories. ACD also builds the M2Smart HMI10 and M2Smart SE mobile HMI terminals, the M260 handheld computer, the MFT920 vehicle mount terminal, and custom RFID modules, all aimed at mobile data acquisition on the warehouse floor.
ACD serves manufacturing, logistics, retail, and medical engineering customers, with ISO 13485 certification for mobile device development and production. Its mobile workstations are widely used for goods receiving, cross docking, shipping, inventory control, quality assurance, and picking, where they replace fixed PC workstations and shorten travel distances. The group also supplies drive, safety, and control technology plus electronics manufacturing services, but the mobile workstation and terminal lines are the equipment most often found on the secondary market.
Buyers seek used ACD mobile workstations because the carts are built for round-the-clock, multi-shift operation with swappable batteries, fast charging, and industrial-grade castors. The modular frame and perforated grid accept standard accessories, so a used unit can be reconfigured rather than replaced, and the proven battery management system extends service life. Long product availability and spare parts support from the manufacturer make these carts a practical alternative to buying new.
