About Amada Miyachi
Amada Miyachi traces its origins to 1948, when Unitek Corporation was founded in Pasadena, California to manufacture orthodontic appliances. A Weldmatic Division followed in 1950, producing electronically operated resistance welders for the missile, aircraft, electronics, and metalworking industries. The company moved to its Monrovia, California headquarters in 1965 and passed through several owners, including Bristol Myers Squibb and 3M, before Miyachi Technos acquired it in 1994. Amada acquired Miyachi Corporation in 2013, and the business now operates as Amada Weld Tech, part of the Amada Group.
The product range centers on resistance welding and laser processing.
