About Nissei ASB

JapanEst. 1978

Nissei ASB Machine Co., Ltd. was formally founded in November 1978 in Komoro, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, at the same time PET bottles were becoming commercially viable worldwide. The company patented its injection stretch blow molding process in early 1979 and has operated as an independent, publicly listed manufacturer ever since, growing to more than 2,000 employees with principal manufacturing facilities in Japan and a major production subsidiary near Mumbai, India that handles mold manufacturing, machine parts, and assembly of several standard models.

The company's flagship product line is the ASB Series of one-step injection stretch blow molding machines, a range of four-station rotary machines spanning from compact models to large-capacity units capable of molding containers from 5 ml up to 20 liters across one, two, or three cavity rows. Alongside the ASB Series, Nissei ASB developed the proprietary 1.5-step "Cool Parison" process, commercialized in the PF Series machines including the PF8-4B, which combines the quality advantages of one-step molding with the higher output of two-step production and is ideally suited to bottles from 0.25 L up to 1.5 L. Additional product lines include the PM Series preform molding machines, the HSB Series reheat stretch blow molding machines for heat-resistant and hot-fill containers, and the CM Series neck crystallizers.

Nissei ASB injection blow molding machines serve a broad range of end-market industries. Beverage producers rely on them for water, carbonated soft drinks, edible oil, and hot-fill juice containers, while the cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical sectors use them for precision small-format bottles and jars. The machines also produce containers for household chemicals, food condiments, and industrial liquids, and the platform's resin flexibility — covering PET, PP, HDPE, PC, PLA, and other thermoplastics — makes Nissei ASB equipment relevant across virtually every segment of rigid plastic container manufacturing.

On the secondary market, used Nissei ASB injection blow molding machines are consistently sought after for several reasons. The machines are built to Japanese manufacturing standards with robust mechanical construction that supports very high cumulative run hours, and Nissei ASB maintains a worldwide service and parts network — including a North American office — that keeps older models supportable long after original sale. The PF Series machines in particular, including the widely traded PF8-4B, hold strong resale value because of their compact footprint, process flexibility across multiple resin types, and the relatively low cost of ownership compared to purchasing new equipment.
