About Wissota
Wissota Manufacturing was incorporated in 1946 in Minnesota and spent its early decades building industrial bench grinders, precision electric motors, and grinding wheels. The company produced grinders under its own brand and as an OEM supplier for Milwaukee Electric Tool, Snap-on's Blue Point line, Delta/Rockwell, Porter-Cable, Montgomery Ward's Powr-Kraft, Wilton, Sioux Tools, and Bosch. A Wissota skate sharpener is held in the collection of the Minnesota Historical Society, and the company later changed its name to Wissota Skate Sharpeners as imports reshaped the bench grinder market.
