About NEPCO
NEPCO grew out of the Korean GumSung plastics business, which started in EPS blowing and molding and later built melting and densifying machines for foam scrap. The company sold EPS melting systems into the United States and set up related operations under the NEPCO name.
The machines that show up on the used market are hot-melt densifiers: a shredder or screw infeed, a heated melt section, and an output that forms a dense ingot. They are aimed at EPS molders, distribution centers, and recyclers who need to collapse foam volume before shipping.
When buying a used NEPCO, confirm the heater bands, temperature control, and screw condition. These machines sit idle often, and a cold start after storage is the main risk. Ask for a power-up with the melt section at temperature.
Parts and support run through NEPCO's later US and overseas companies rather than a wide US dealer network, so a local electrician and a screw shop matter more than a factory service call. Nameplate model and motor horsepower are often missing on older units.
