About Parmigiani
Parmigiani Macchine was started in 1927 by Ernesto Parmigiani in Cremona, Italy, first to build tanks and equipment for the chemical industry. As that work grew, the shop turned to the machines that form the plate: bending rolls, section benders, and dishing and flanging equipment. The company is still in Cremona, at Via Sesto 44, and is run by the same family.
The current range covers the VBH 4-roll plate roll (plate from about 1 mm to 300 mm, roll lengths from about 300 mm to 8,000 mm), the PCO variable-geometry 3-roll plate roll, PLANET section benders, DPO dishing presses from 150 to 2,000 tons, MAP manipulators, and FM-Hy flanging machines. Controls are written in-house, from the compact Digimatic up to the multi-axis Stradivari CNC.
A used VBH is worth checking for roll surface condition, the side and overhead supports, whether cone rolling hardware is on the machine, and which control is fitted. The touchscreen and program keys do not by themselves identify Digimatic versus Stradivari. Hydraulic proportional-valve parallelism is standard on the VBH series; confirm the panel powers up and that the roll-position axes respond.
Parts and service run through the Cremona factory. In the United States, Carell Industrial (Stapleton, Alabama) sells and supports the Parmigiani plate-roll line, which matters when a control board or a roll bearing is the holdup.
