About Used Compounding & Pelletizing Equipment

Plastic pelletizing and compounding equipment converts raw polymers, additives, fillers, and colorants into ready-to-process plastic pellets (granules). A complete compounding and plastic pelletizing line includes a twin screw extruder (for mixing and compounding), die plate, pelletizer (strand, underwater, or water ring), classifier, and packaging system.

Plastic pelletizing machines are available in strand pelletizing (most common for compounding), underwater pelletizing (for high-output and specialty materials), and water ring pelletizing configurations. Plastic pelletizing equipment serves compound manufacturers, recyclers, color concentrate producers, and resin producers.

Plastic granulation machines (also called plastic granulating machines) produce uniform pellets from plastic waste, regrind, or virgin material for reprocessing. MuCell extrusion technology can also be incorporated into pelletizing systems for specialty foamed pellet production.

Meadoworks stocks used plastic pelletizing machines, pelletizer systems, and compounding equipment from Coperion, Gala/Maag, BKG, Bay Plastics Machinery, Reduction Engineering, and Entek. Plastic pelletizing machine prices depend on output capacity and pelletizer type. Contact us at 800-323-0307.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a plastic pelletizing machine cost?

Used plastic pelletizing machine prices range from $15,000-$50,000 for strand pelletizers to $50,000-$250,000+ for complete underwater pelletizing systems. Complete plastic pelletizing lines (extruder + pelletizer + downstream) range from $100,000-$500,000+. Contact Meadoworks at 800-323-0307 for plastic pelletizing equipment pricing.

What is plastic pelletizing?

Plastic pelletizing (also called plastic granulation) is the process of converting plastic material into uniform small pellets or granules. Molten plastic is extruded through a die plate and cut into pellets by rotating knives — either in air (strand pelletizing) or underwater (underwater pelletizing). The resulting pellets are the feedstock for injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion processes.
