About Used Industrial Mixers
Industrial mixers for plastics compounding include Banbury mixers (internal batch mixers for rubber and plastics compounding), Henschel mixers (high-intensity mixers for PVC dry blending and powder mixing), high intensity mixers for rapid material blending, and paddle blenders for gentle mixing of pellets and powders.
Banbury mixers use counter-rotating rotors inside an enclosed chamber to intensively mix rubber compounds, plastic compounds, and masterbatch formulations. Henschel mixers use a high-speed impeller in a vertical tank for rapid heating and mixing of PVC dry blend and other powder formulations. Paddle blenders provide gentle, low-shear mixing for blending pellets, regrind, and additives.
Meadoworks stocks used Banbury mixers, Henschel mixers, high intensity mixers, and paddle blenders from Mixaco, Henschel, Farrel (Banbury), Marion, and Reliance. Contact us at 800-323-0307.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Banbury mixer?
A Banbury mixer is an internal batch mixer that uses two counter-rotating rotors inside an enclosed chamber to intensively mix rubber compounds, plastic compounds, and masterbatch. Originally developed for rubber, Banbury mixers are also used for plastics compounding, especially for heat-sensitive or highly filled materials.
What is a Henschel mixer used for?
A Henschel mixer (high intensity mixer) uses a high-speed impeller to rapidly heat and blend powder materials through frictional energy. In the plastics industry, Henschel mixers are primarily used for PVC dry blending — mixing PVC resin with plasticizers, stabilizers, and other additives into a free-flowing dry blend ready for extrusion.
