How to Choose Used Shuttle & Rock-and-Roll Rotomolder
Long parts, one mold
A rock-and-roll machine turns on one axis and rocks on another. That motion suits a long shape: a kayak, a canoe, a long tank. A shuttle moves one mold from an oven to a cooling station on a track. Neither is a multi-arm carousel. Output is one mold at a time.
The oven, or the burner on an open machine, has to cover the length of the tool. A short oven will not fuse the ends.
Axes and the powder
Both axes have to move for the whole cook. A dead rock leaves a pool of powder in one end. Cooling, air or water, sets warpage on a long part. The resin is rotomolding powder, not pellets.
Arm offset and mold length are the fit. Measure the tool you have before you buy the travel.
