Omax Corporation was founded in 1993 in Kent, Washington, by Dr. John Cheung and Dr. John Olsen, two leading experts in waterjet technology. The company was established to commercialize a new motion control technology that made abrasive waterjet machining more precise, affordable, and accessible than ever before. An early breakthrough came with the JetMachining Center Model 2448, and by securing pivotal patents in 1995, Omax cemented its position as a leader in machine tool motion control.
