About Polymer Systems
Polymer Systems, now operating as Hosokawa Polymer Systems, is a U.S. manufacturer of plastics recycling and size reduction equipment based in Berlin, Connecticut. The product range includes press-side and central granulators from 3 to 600 HP, heavy-duty granulators for pipe, sheet and blow molding scrap, single- and twin-shaft shredders, dedusting and air separation systems, and complete PET and HDPE washing lines. These machines are used across injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, film and fiber recovery, post-consumer plastics recycling and related applications such as cable, wire and profile processing. The brand is known in the industry for rugged construction, innovative cutting geometries such as Double Angle Cut and Cross Scissor Cut, high throughput and clean, uniform regrind. Originally founded in 1964 as Polymer Machinery, the business continues under the Hosokawa Micron International umbrella, and as of 2024 the Polymer Systems product line is fully integrated into the Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems brand.
