These machines support both throughfeed and infeed (plunge) grinding and are built around a modular platform that allows automation and handling systems to be integrated directly. The Schaudt brand covered external cylindrical and non-round grinding, with the CamGrind series for camshaft grinding, the CrankGrind for crankshaft applications, and the FlexGrind for universal cylindrical work including long, heavy components such as printing rolls and tool spindles.

Schaudt Mikrosa machines were engineered primarily for the global automotive industry and its tier-one and tier-two suppliers, where high-volume, tight-tolerance shaft and roller production is essential. The printing industry was another core end market, particularly for the FlexGrind line. Bearing manufacturers and general precision engineering shops also relied heavily on Kronos centerless grinders for the mass production of cylindrical components.
