About Wandres
Wandres was founded in 1981 by Claus G. Wandres as an engineering consultancy in the Black Forest region of Germany and moved into air-assisted cleaning systems in the mid-1980s. In 1990 it built its first brush-based cleaning machine, and in 1992 it patented the Ingromat micro-moistening process that makes particles cling to brush filaments so they can be carried away and extracted.
The company makes its own linear brushes in-house and is best known for the Sword Brush family: circulating linear brushes that wipe across a part or web, clean themselves in a vacuum-extracted unit and keep a constant wiping pressure on a compressed-air buffer. Product lines cover web cleaning for films, foils, paper and board, cleaning cells for molded and stamped parts, and robot-mounted Sword Brushes for automotive paint shops.
In plastics, Wandres systems sit inside molding and decorating cells to clean film inserts, molded parts and substrates before in-mold decoration, painting, laminating or printing, where a single particle can scrap a part.
When buying a used Wandres unit, check the condition and remaining life of the linear brushes, the brush drive and the vacuum extraction, confirm the working width suits your parts or film, and ask for the electrical rating and any controls interface to the host cell.
Wandres Corporation in Ann Arbor, Michigan has supported North American customers since 1998, and replacement linear brushes and service parts are available from the factory.
Meadoworks sells Wandres cleaning systems alongside the molding cells and auxiliary equipment they were built into, so buyers can pick up the cleaning step with the line.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Wandres cleaning system do?
It removes dust and particles from parts, films or webs with circulating linear brushes that clean themselves and send the particles to a vacuum extraction, so surfaces are clean before decorating, coating or assembly.
Are replacement brushes available for used Wandres units?
Yes. Wandres makes its linear brushes in-house and supplies replacements through Wandres Corporation in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
What should I check on a used Wandres unit?
Brush wear, the brush drive, the vacuum extraction, the working width and the electrical rating, plus how it interfaces with the cell it will run in.
Can a Wandres unit be moved to a different cell?
Usually yes, but the mounting, part handling and controls interface may need to be adapted to the new line.
