About Used Coil Straighteners & Levelers
Coil straighteners and levelers remove coil set, crossbow, edge wave, and other flatness defects from coil stock before it enters the stamping press. Standard straighteners use a series of work rolls to progressively remove coil set. Precision levelers (also called precision straighteners or roller levelers) use closely spaced, small-diameter rolls with independent adjustment to eliminate residual stresses and achieve flat, stress-free material.
Key specifications include material width capacity, material thickness range, number of work rolls, roll diameter, roll spacing, and backup roll configuration. Precision levelers are essential when flatness specifications are critical, such as in fine blanking, laser cutting, and precision stamping.
Meadoworks stocks used coil straighteners and levelers from Coe, Rowe, Dallas Industries, Littell, and Red Bud. Contact us at 800-323-0307.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a straightener and a leveler?
A straightener (coil straightener) removes coil set — the curvature from being wound on a coil — using a series of work rolls. A leveler (precision leveler or roller leveler) goes further, using closely spaced small-diameter rolls to work the material beyond its yield point, eliminating internal stresses and producing flat, stress-free material. Levelers are required when precision flatness is critical.
